Does Microdermabrasion hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as a "gritty massage" or a light tugging on the skin. It is not painful, and your provider can adjust the intensity throughout the ritual to ensure your comfort.
How is this different from a Chemical Peel?
While a peel uses acids to dissolve the "glue" between cells, Microdermabrasion uses physical friction to "polish" them away. Microdermabrasion is often preferred by clients who want immediate textural results without any risk of flaking or "sheeting" after the treatment.
Will my skin be red afterward?
You may experience a temporary "sun-kissed" flush for 1–2 hours due to increased circulation. However, this subsides quickly, leaving behind a bright, polished glow.
Can I get Microdermabrasion if I have active acne?
We do not recommend physical microdermabrasion over active, inflamed breakouts as it can cause irritation. For clients with active acne, we recommend our Deep Pore Cleansing Facial or a Custom Peel.
How often should I schedule this facial?
For maintenance of Refined Texture, once every 4 weeks is ideal. If you are working toward a specific goal, such as reducing sun damage or scarring, a series of 6 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart is recommended
