we palpate the area and use specialized lighting to identify exactly where the old filler is sitting.
Filler
Removal
Filler dissolve support when correction or removal is the goal.
The "Clean Slate" Strategy
Sometimes, filler doesn't age the way we want it to. Over time, it can migrate (the "filler mustache"), create a "heavy" look, or cause the "Tyndall effect" (a bluish tint under the eyes). Hyaluronidase is a naturally occurring enzyme that we use to selectively dissolve these areas. At Essence, we don't judge—we just fix. We use a precision-led approach to break down the old product while preserving your natural tissue, giving you back the facial harmony you’ve been missing.
At Essence Medspa, we view dissolving as an art form. It requires an expert understanding of anatomy to remove the "bad" filler without affecting the areas you still love.
- Migration Correction Deletes the "shelf" of filler that can happen above the lip line.
- Eye Area Reset Smooths out lumps or persistent puffiness in the tear troughs caused by old filler.
- Symmetry Restoration Evens out lopsided results or over-filled cheeks.
- Nodule Neutralizer Breaks down firm "lumps" or "bumps" that didn't integrate properly with your skin.
The Four-Phase Ritual
Because hyaluronidase is an enzyme, we perform a tiny "scratch test" on your arm to ensure you aren't sensitive to it.
We inject the enzyme directly into the filler. You’ll feel a quick "pinch" and a slight "stinging" sensation as the enzyme begins to work.
The dissolving starts immediately. We provide a chilled compress and discuss the timeline for your next "refill" (if desired).
Good Questions, Clear Answers
Every facial protocol is refined around your skin on the day of your visit. These treatment-specific notes come directly from the facial guide for this service.
How fast does it work?
The enzyme begins breaking down filler the second it touches it. You will see a significant difference within 24 hours, but it continues to work for about 48 to 72 hours.
Does it dissolve my natural collagen?
Hyaluronidase is specific to hyaluronic acid. While it can temporarily affect your body’s own HA, your skin naturally replenishes its own supply within a few days. Your natural structure remains intact.
When can I get new filler?
We require a minimum of 2 weeks after dissolving before we can inject new filler. We need the enzyme to be completely out of your system and the swelling to be gone so we have a perfect, stable canvas.
Does it hurt?
The enzyme itself can feel a bit "spicy" or "stinging" for a few seconds during the injection. We use topical numbing and ice to make it as comfortable as possible.
How many sessions will I need?
For most clients, one session is enough. However, if the filler is very dense or there is a lot of it, a second "polish" session may be needed.
