Will the scrub feel abrasive or painful?
No. At Essence, we use Pure Fiji’s sugar cane crystals, which naturally contain AHAs to help dissolve dead skin while we manually exfoliate. As the sugar dissolves, it turns into a creamy, hydrating lather, ensuring your skin is polished but never scratched.
Should I shave before my appointment?
We recommend that clients do not shave for at least 24–48 hours prior to a body scrub. The exfoliation process can be irritating to freshly shaved follicles.
Is this treatment safe for sensitive skin or eczema?
The cold-pressed oils used are highly anti-inflammatory and biocompatible. However, during Phase I (Consult), please inform your provider of any active flare-ups so we can adjust the pressure and focus on restoration rather than exfoliation in those areas
Can I go out in the sun after this treatment?
Since we are removing the "dead" layer of skin, your body will be more photosensitive. We recommend avoiding direct sun exposure for 24 hours and applying a high-quality SPF to any exposed areas.
